After we graduated from college, my friend of 19 years got a full-ride to Princeton Theological Seminary.  Wanting to give him some visitors and since I had never been to the East Coast before (excluding Florida), I vowed to him that I would visit him before he finished his 3 years of seminary.  Here we are 3 years later and after my friend has officially finished all his classes, and I am finally making good on my promise to visit him.

While I am not too thrilled to visit New Jersey itself (word-of-mouth is working against it), I am really excited for some day trips to Philadelphia and especially New York.  The foodie that I am, I plan on getting a taste of the monster that is the New York dining scene.  I’m not looking forward to putting what I know will be a huge dent in my months of vigorous exercise and eating right, but what better justification do I need than getting to eat in arguably the culinary center of the country.  Plus, I guess it’s better to be in good shape beforehand rather than adding fat onto fat.
